《天命6》是一款Q版风格的动作 RPG，以寻找决定世界命运的六名天选者作为主线剧情，玩家也因此踏上冒险之旅。游戏中的角色不但造型可爱，且个性各异，后续还会推出多达 360 个的角色。除了造型和性格不一外，每个角色都拥有不同的队长技能、连锁技能等，还能通过搭配组合出能够应对不同情况的队伍。
游戏的操作方面并非采用虚拟摇杆加按键点击的模式，而是通过拖拽的方式来移动角色和攻击，再搭配上技能按键来形成一系列的操作。《天命6》还有许多不同的副本等待玩家挑战，而队伍的搭配也就需要有一定的策略性。
